The following blog will show you how to download pictures from your digital camera onto a Vista machine and then how to manage the photos once they are on the computer.

First of all take some photos on your digital camera and then insert the camera into the computer using the USB cable provided with your camera. When you plug the USB cable in, make sure that the camera is off.

Next, switch on your camera.

A window similar to below will appear, click ‘Import Images Using Windows’.

Your computer will now import the images on the camera.

Give the group of photos a ‘Tag’, which is basically a name for the group of photos.

If you wish to either delete the pictures from your camera or make the folder name have the date you took the picture on click ‘Options’ and change as appropriate. The default setting for folder names is ‘Date Imported + Tag’.

Then click ‘Import’.

The below Window will now appear.

How do you find the Images again?

Click the ‘Start Orb’ and select ‘Pictures’.

Scroll around until you see the folder that you in which you downloaded the pictures in. Double click on the folder.

The photos will be in the folder ready and waiting.

I hope this was helpful!
